I did a solo ad plus Facebook ad.
Out of 330 clicks I have received 106 confirmed opt-ins. There are 46 unconfirmed. 2 unsubscribed. Not a bad number for the first time. Through the first week of my autoresponder series, I have sent out 312 emails, including the welcome email. According to the stats, not one email was opened - other than the tests I sent to myself. Some of my email titles: "Why Abdominal Fat is More Deadly Than You Think" "Recipes to Liven Up Your Office Lunches" "Maximum Nutrition with Raw Food" "How To Get Over The Weight Loss Plateau" Any suggestions on getting emails opened? Are my numbers too small to get good stats? I would think at least a few emails would have gotten opened. Could they all have been just going for the free report? |

100 subs isn't a big number but surely your subs quality is crap and could be fake.
Time to rely on fb ads to build a quality list. You can also start doing double optin to ensure getting raving subs only. Another tip is to gather and use their firstname on your titles, this will increase the open rates. |

If these are recent opt-ins and you have zero open rate it is possible that the method used to track the opened emails could be flawed. Perhaps your autoresponder is to blame. You would think someone would open them.
You do not want the emails going into a spam folder. Be sure your return email address (listed as the email of record for that specific autoresponder campaign) is not a free email services such as gmail or yahoo but rather a domain email address. That reduces the spam rate of the emails you send. |

Let me ask you a question.....
Did you get these subscribers from a solo ad? If you did then I am here to tell you the truth and that is that getting subscribers onto your list from a solo ad is useless. You would be better off if you spend your money on pay per click ads. |

Thanks for the responses.
I would love it if the autoresponder is not tracking correctly, but when I added myself to the series, it noted the emails that I opened. Not getting much traffic to affiliate links, so that confirms it as well. I am using double opt-in which is why I only got 107 instead of 150. I have a domain email address and I try not to use spam words in my subject line. I'm going to try to put the first name in the subject line to see if that gets better response. I will put as much money into fb ads as I did with the solo and see if I get a better response. (I spent $25 on fb and got 17 clicks.) I will also look into PPC. |

I definitely agree with you 105%. Guess what, previously I also used solo ads and guess what??? After several months, I noticed that all those people who subscribed from that solo ads became "UNSUBSCRIBERS" - all of them so please make sure to be careful in spending your dollar with solo ads. I would recommend to have both organics and PPC or PPV or CPM. All the best! Jeng Cua | |

Hi,
There could be many reasons for no emails opened. When you are on solo ads you find people with mixed market / niche. So you are not sure whether subscribers are really interested in the topic or not. Such as; you can start a website/blog about Email Marketing and then advertise your page for targeted audience which you can find on various forums by typing such as email marketing forums or directories on search engines. Once you have subscribers who are interested in the niche and if they are double opt-in, then you can see the results and difference. There mostly would be more emails opened. |

Are you sending HTML emails of Text emails?
Open is tracked by a pixel in HTML emails so if you text emails it cannot track open rates. Or if the email provider of the subscriber blocks images it still will show as unopened. However you should look for clicks. Sometimes I send out emails that gets more unique clicks than opens. But If you get clicks it means someone opened them, hope this helps :-) |
